...HEAVY MOUNTAIN SNOW THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING... .A stronger winter storm will move in across the region this evening. Upwards of 1 to 2 feet will be possible with locally higher amounts on the Cascade Crest. Lookout Pass will see treacherous travel conditions due to heavy snow starting early this evening and continuing into the overnight hours. Gusty winds could also result in areas of blowing and drifting snow. Travel across mountain passes will likely be hazardous at times. Snow is also expected for the northern valleys. * WHAT...Heavy snow above 4000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches with local amounts of 20 inches on the highest peaks. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Dobson Pass and Lookout Pass. * WHEN...Until 10 AM PST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing and drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility.
