Between University Avenue and Washington Street (near Gooding) and Belafone Road (3 miles west of the Shoshone area). Road construction work is in progress. Expect single line traffic alternating directions because the road is being repaved. Look out for loose gravel on the roadway. Expect delays. Look out for flaggers. A pilot car is in operation. Speed restrictions are in force. There is a width limit in effect. Expect 15 - minute delays.. Speed limit 35 MPH . Width limit 12'0". From 7:00AM MDT to 7:00PM MDT on weekdays and Saturdays. Until October 21.

The roadway is reduced to one lane. There is a width limit in effect. Look out for flaggers. Expect 20 - minute delays.. Width limit 12'0". Until September 29.

Web Comment: Stabilizing slopes along U.S. 26 between Palisades Dam and Big Elk Creek. Crews are removing loose rock and installing retaining mesh on slopes. Commercial drivers transporting permitted loads wider than 12 feet need to contact Maintenance Operations Manager Jesse Barrus (208-745-7781) 24 hours in advance for special authorization to pass through the construction zone. Motorists should watch for rock on the road and for construction equipment along the highway.
