Comment: Replacing broken pavement in Rexburg on Idaho 33 between U.S. 20, Exit 333, and the Madison County Courthouse on Main Street, and between Main Street and Walmart on 2nd East, a distance of about two miles. Commercial transporters hauling loads wider than 12 feet need to contact Maintenance Operations Manager Ken Hahn, at (208) 745-5640, or staff engineer Tracy Bono, at (208) 745-5619, 24 hours in advance, for authorization to travel through the construction zone. Drivers should expect delays, merging traffic, uneven surfaces, construction workers and equipment. When traveling through the project area, motorists should obey all traffic signs and flaggers where present. Crews will not work on Memorial Day, May 27, or during the rest of that week, but will resume pavement maintenance on Monday, June 3. The transportation department will microsurface (that is, apply a polymer-modified asphalt seal) and stripe Idaho 33 in Rexburg later in the construction season.
